Joyce Washington has joined QLK as a managing partner. Joyce has over 25 years of experience in general management and healthcare systems. She is the president and CEO of The Washington Group, Ltd., a Chicago-based management consulting firm that she founded in 2001. Her expertise includes healthcare, education and business development.
Joyce began her career as an RN at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. She quickly elevated to C-suite positions and has directed strategic and tactical efforts for several world-class healthcare organizationa. She has held a variety of executive-level positions, including vice president of Advocate Health Care, vice president and COO of Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center and CEO positions with HCA Healthcare.
An accomplished negotiator and lobbyist, Joyce's skills and professional relationships have led to the passing of critical legislation that has benefitted Illinois citizens. She influenced the passage of Smoke Free Illinois, and is influential in areas of healthcare, economic development, education and public safety.
Joyce is the former governing council chairperson at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, board member and board capital campaign committee chairperson for DuSable Museum, and board of directors chairperson, T.LAB. She is a member of the NAACP and Chicago Urban League. Joyce has a Masters of Public Administration Degree from Indiana State University.
