Hospitals and Health Systems

As the healthcare landscape evolves to one that is performance-based and trending toward consolidation, the skills and experiences required of leaders for healthcare organizations are transforming as well. New functional roles are appearing in the c-suite (and below). Leaders must be skilled in not only health care, but also in business, and those who have demonstrated innovation across a variety of industries help form a new talent pool. Leaders must be tapped who can not only lead today, but can chart a course for the future of an organization.

QLK has had a healthcare practice since its inception in 1999. The firm's consultants in this practice include those who have prior sector experience in health care and are active members of the national healthcare associations and organizations. To date, QLK has conducted approximately hundreds of healthcare searches and has developed long-term, trusted relationships with some of the nation's leading health systems and healthcare services organizations.

QLK is proud to acknowledge our clients and count among some representative work:

  • QLK was retained to execute searches for key leadership roles; Senior Vice President of Hospital and Ambulatory Services, and several service line executives for a $2 billion newly-created healthcare system.
  • QLK was selected to recruit the first CEO for a newly-launched clinically integrated hospital network in the Northeast serving a broad geography.
  • Upon the succession of a COO into the CEO position of a $1 billion integrated delivery system in the Southeast, QLK was retained to assist the new CEO in assembling his leadership team. Our work included four C-suite positions: General Counsel, SVP Physician Network, SVP and CFO, and Vice President Human Resources.
