Established in 1967, New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) is southeastern North Carolina's leading provider of patient-focused, award-winning healthcare services. NHRMC is a public, not-for-profit teaching hospital and tertiary care center for a seven-county area, with the region's only Level II Trauma Center. It is the ninth-largest healthcare system in the state, with a dedicated team of 7,000 employees, 740 physicians, and 700 active volunteers. Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital is a 195,000-square-foot, 150-bed facility located on the main campus that provides obstetrical care for routine and high-risk deliveries, the state's only all-private-room neonatal intensive care unit, and the only pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric surgery program in the region. With more than 4,000 deliveries a year, the women's and children's hospital encompasses 14 large, all-private LDR rooms, three C-section operating rooms, hydrotherapy, in-room family space, a family kitchen and living room, and 24-hour in-house physician coverage. More than 30 pediatric physician specialists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants deliver comprehensive pediatric subspecialty care through the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinic, and NHRMC enjoys a close relationship with the University of North Carolina Health Care System to further enhance care for children in the region.
Reporting to the vice president/associate chief nurse executive, the administrator of Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital provides strategic and operational leadership for the growth and development of New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Women's and Children's service line, including oversight for Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics, resulting in a full continuum of services that support NHRMC's strategic imperatives and the identified needs of the community. The administrator will serve as a liaison internally and externally to implement and maintain a comprehensive women's and children's program for NHRMC and its surrounding communities, maintain expertise in the clinical and financial aspects of contemporary women's and children's services and program management, develop strategies to advance care, and lead structured plans to deliver quality, cost-effective care.
