Location: Chicago, IL
In April of 2018, Aurora Health Care and Advocate Health Care completed a merger designed to elevate each system's strengths and build a transformational healthcare model. Advocate Health Care is the largest system in Illinois and one of the largest in the Midwest, operating the state's largest integrated children's network, five Level I trauma centers, three Level II trauma centers, one of the area's largest home health and hospice companies, and one of the region's largest medical groups. Advocate trains more primary care physicians and residents at its four teaching hospitals than any other health system in the state, and is a not-for-profit, mission-based health system affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the United Church of Christ.
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin-area healthcare provider and a national leader in efforts to improve healthcare quality. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 30 counties throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, and is Wisconsin's most comprehensive healthcare provider and the state's largest private employer. As evidenced by more than 300 active clinical trials, Aurora is dedicated to delivering innovations to provide the best possible care today and to define the best care for tomorrow.
Together, Advocate Aurora Health represents 26 hospitals, more than 500 outpatient locations, 8,300 doctors, 22,000 nurses, 74,000 team members, and 10,000 volunteers. It serves three million unique patients, and is recognized for clinical excellence in cardiovascular care, neurosciences, gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, primary care, neurology, geriatrics, and trauma care. One of the top 10 health systems in the country, Advocate Aurora Health has been named among Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's "Top Workplaces" and Modern Healthcare's "Best Places to Work." Three of its hospitals are recognized among Watson Health's "100 Top Hospitals," and 14 are recognized by U.S. News & World Report.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the chief strategy officer (CSO) will lead efforts to develop, help implement, monitor, and, when necessary, modify the overall system strategic plan of Advocate Aurora Health. The CSO also leads the system's innovation and design efforts that support the transformation of care delivery and health system operations. This highly visible role will work collaboratively across the enterprise, as well as externally to enhance the reach of the health system across multiple states. Reporting to the CSO will be a team responsible for strategy and analytics, as well as innovation and design.
