Gunnison Valley Health (GVH) is an integrated health system serving the 17,000 residents of Gunnison County, Colorado; its 300-plus-member staff works with 50 local and visiting specialists to provide almost every aspect of health care to the community, including a family birthing center, a senior care center, and a cancer care center – all supported by a philanthropic foundation.

The city of Gunnison, Colorado is known as "the basecamp of the Rockies," with an elevation of over 7,700 feet. It is the county seat of Gunnison County, located within minutes of world-class skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, boating, horseback riding, hot springs, and river rafting. The Gunnison Valley includes the communities of Gunnison, Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte, Almont, and Gothic. Gunnison County is home to 17,000 residents, representing an 11% growth in population since 2010. The city of Gunnison is home to 6,530 residents, not including the 2,911 students enrolled at Western Colorado University. Known locally as "Gunny," the community still maintains its historic tradition as a ranching town but has grown into a recreation mecca and a great place to raise a family.
Reporting to the chief executive officer, the CFO directs and supervises the financial management of the entire Gunnison Valley Health organization, which includes hospital accounting, financial management, patient financial services, information technology, health information management, and materials management. The CFO is also responsible for the annual budget, annual audit, and supervision of the financial services of Senior Services (SNF, assisted living, and home medical services). The CFO serves on the senior management team and plays an integral part in ensuring the strategic development and performance of the system, while acting in a leadership role for hospital financial activities including development, committee assignments, sources of revenue, and cost structure, among other assigned matters.
A bachelor's degree is required, master's degree in a relevant field preferred; CPA or Healthcare Finance certification preferred; Minimum of 10 years of accounting & financial management experience in a hospital setting required, CAH experience preferred; Minimum of five years of personnel supervisory experience required.
