Job Description:

The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the president and CEO and is accountable for the successful leadership and advancement of the MGMA's internal operations and the team members included therein. Direct reports to the COO:

  • Vice President, Association vertical
  • Vice President, Industry Insights vertical
  • Director, Information Technology
  • Director, Project Management

The primary role of the COO – and most critical to the MGMA's success – is to instill and maintain highly efficient internal processes, data-supported methodologies, rigor, and an outcomes-focused culture of accountability across the entire organization. With CEO oversight, the COO will function as the operational partner to the chief financial officer and provide operational insights relative to exploring new business partners/ventures, as appropriate.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience: 15+ years of operations management experience in a complex healthcare organization or non-profit association; minimum of 7 years as a senior executive (vice president or C-level) with team member oversight
  • Education: MBA, MHA or related discipline required
