The Company was founded in the 1990s, subsequently achieving a successful IPO on the NASDAQ, and is now an established manufacturer and leader in delivering high-quality, innovative drug therapies to healthcare providers and distributors in the U.S. and abroad. The Company has recently hired a new CEO and is in the process of launching its lead therapeutic into the U.S. market, as well as preparing to file an NDA for another formulation of this therapeutic; further, the Company has received patent protection in numerous countries, including in the four largest markets worldwide relative to its lead targeted therapeutic area: the U.S., Japan, Europe, and China. Throughout its history, the Company has also developed, patented, and successfully marketed a number of other medical products in its lead targeted therapeutic area. In 2014, the Company entered into an exclusive agreement with a larger pharmaceutical organization for the marketing, sales, and distribution of its core device products in the U.S. and selected international markets.


Job Description:

Reporting to the president and chief executive officer, the chief science and medical officer (CSMO) will fill a newly combined position encompassing both chief medical officer and R&D responsibilities. The CSMO will provide leadership and direction for the Company's pipeline of clinical programs in drug development, and for the strategy, direction, and execution of the Company's clinical development plans, working with the Company's academic partners and KOLs. The CSMO will develop an R&D and medical strategy that aligns with the Company's overall strategy and objectives and provide hands-on leadership to the entire R&D and medical teams, overseeing the different parts of the value chain such as research, pre-clinical and clinical development, clinical trial design and execution (all phases), regulatory affairs, and adverse event reporting.
