Vice President of Talent Acquisition
Position: Director of Emergency Dept and Trauma Nursing
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Cook County Health (formerly the Cook County Health and Hospitals Systems) oversees a comprehensive, integrated system of health care throughout Chicago and suburban Cook County. CCH is made up of two hospitals, a growing ambulatory and community health network, a public health department, a correctional healthcare facility (Cermack), and an outpatient infectious disease center (CORE Center); each of these system institutions is led by a chief operating officer, who has responsibility for day-to-day operations. CCH also partners with hospitals, healthcare centers, and community organizations to maximize services and increase patient convenience in city and suburban neighborhoods.
Reporting to the system's chief nurse executive, the director of emergency room and trauma nursing will be responsible for providing clinical direction and leadership for effective nursing practices in the ER and trauma center of Cook County Health. The director defines, develops, and implements initiatives and strategies to ensure that quality patient care is provided in a cost-effective manner, utilizing continuous quality improvement techniques across a broad portfolio of services that includes ED, Level I Trauma, and the burn program. He or she acts as a liaison between physicians and staff to ensure continuity of care and services, collaborates with other healthcare staff to establish and maintain programs that cross service and discipline lines and influence the organizational mission, and maintains open relationships with leadership and peers across CCH.
