Job Description:

Reporting to the president and chief executive officer, the chief human resource officer (CHRO) will serve as a member of the senior administrative team and will drive the strategic and operational leadership of the human resource function across the entire New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) organization. The CHRO will strategically align and manage sound and effective HR policies, programs, services, and initiatives, and will be a leader who is open to a culture of team effort.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree in human resources, business, healthcare management, or a related field
  • Current certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • A background in organizational development and strategy is paramount, in order to help move and change the organization
  • Working knowledge of, and experience managing:  staffing and employee relations, compensation and benefits design and administration, employment law, best practices in HR, and issues impacting the workforce
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader and business partner, aligning human resource and executive strategies with system resources toward a vision for unified system results
  • A track record of introducing and driving change
  • Experience developing action plans and initiatives focused on driving employee engagement to support departmental and organizational strategic objectives
