Job Description:

The market president is responsible for state and regional sales and growth strategies of Providence Health Plan (PHP), and has operational responsibility for retail offices, including sales, client service, and leadership activities pertaining to PHP's employer segments (business-to-business or B2B). These segments include small and large group insured plans and self-insured plans (ASO); segments may include associations, trusts, exchanges, and government purchasing authorities. The market president will represent PHP with external audiences including producers and consultants, as well as employers. The market president has direct accountability for relationships with the producer and consulting channels, business leaders, community leaders and organizations, and provider organizations. The market president will lead the sales and account services teams for his or her respective market(s), collaborating with the chief sales and underwriting officer, the vice president of growth strategies, and various sales leaders and caregivers. The market president works closely with the finance, informatics, marketing, network development, product, and underwriting teams. The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred
  • 7 years of experience with health insurance is required; 10 years is preferred
  • 7 years of leadership/managerial/supervisory experience
  • Solid working knowledge of strategic planning, execution of strategy, budgeting, business development, and sales
  • Knowledge of the health insurance market supporting opportunities for PHP across all markets and services, as appropriate.
