Serving Chicago's northwest suburbs since 1959, NCH is a not-for-profit healthcare system dedicated to providing outstanding care in the communities we call home. Our comprehensive, patient-centered system of care has dozens of locations throughout the area. Together, we serve more than 200,000 outpatients and treat more than 20,000 inpatients annually. Our hospital houses a Level III NICU, Level II Trauma Center and a dedicated pediatric emergency department.
In January 2021, we joined NorthShore University HealthSystem. Headquartered in Evanston, NorthShore is a fully integrated healthcare delivery system that includes 6 hospitals—Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Skokie, Swedish and now NCH. Together, the NorthShore system provides clinical excellence and community-focused care across Chicagoland.
Over the years, we have continued to grow to meet your changing needs. Today, we're a world-class healthcare provider that combines compassionate care with a healing environment, cutting-edge clinical expertise and state- of-the-art facilities—all right here in your community, close to home.
The Northwest Community Hospital Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising charitable resources to support NCH and the thousands of families that rely on us.
Donations from our community support more than 75 programs and services annually at NCH. Over the last two years we have raised $12.4M from more than 1,500 families, individuals, employees, physicians, corporations and foundations.
Here are just a few of the major projects that received significant funding from philanthropy over the last few years:
The John M. Boler Center for Rehabilitation and Boler Scholars Endowment
A gift born out of gratitude for the care shown to a husband and father named our acute inpatient rehab floors and added significant investments in state-of-the-art technologies, education and world-class rehabilitation care.
Halcyon Linear Accelerator
Halcyon represents the latest in radiation treatment technology in terms of speed, safety and comfort. Support from our community allowed NCH to be one of the first in the Midwest to offer it.
Atherton Family Hybrid Cardiac Cath Suite
Philanthropy helped fund and equip this new space that surrounds a patient with an entire team of experts and the latest imaging equipment to perform the most advanced structural heart procedures available now and in the future.
Cancer Vision Campaign
With a new stand-alone cancer center as its centerpiece, the ongoing Cancer Vision Campaign seeks to improve each step of the cancer journey for patients and their families – to take our outstanding programs, physicians, and care teams and make them even better through state-of-the-art technology, research and world-class specialists.
Northwest Community Hospital Foundation, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, is seeking an experienced, results- oriented, fundraising leader, with an interest in healthcare, to become a member of the Foundation's accomplished fundraising team. The Senior Major Gifts Officer ("SMGO") will be a champion of Northwest Community Healthcare's ("NCH") mission to improve the health of the communities we serve and to meet individuals'healthcare needs.
The SMGO will report to and work in partnership with the Director of Major Gifts, and the Foundation's Executive Director to develop and execute major gifts and planned giving programs pertinent to the capital campaign to build a standalone Cancer Center ("Cancer Center"). The Cancer Center will provide exceptional, compassionate care for every patient. Multidisciplinary teams will deliver tailor-made treatment, encompassing cutting-edge discoveries, and stellar diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic advances. The Cancer Center will give each patient an optimal chance to conquer cancer and receive an outstanding continuum of care, with an emphasis on a high quality of life.
Dedicated to providing excellent personalized cancer care, the Northwest Community Hospital Foundation aims to partner with donors who share our vision to revolutionize cancer treatment. The Northwest Community Healthcare Board of Directors, Northwest Community Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, and Northwest Community Healthcare executives and clinicians provide essential leadership to guide the strategy and scope of the Cancer Center vision and fundraising initiatives.
The SMGO will partner with NCH leaders, clinicians and donors to build enthusiasm about the Cancer Center vision. Cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and prospects with the capacity to give five to seven figure leadership level gifts within a focused portfolio are key responsibilities of the SMGO.
