In 1892, a group of faithful Lutheran parishioners with a shared devotion came together from neighboring congregations in Illinois to form Lutheran Home, the founding community of Lutheran Life Communities, aimed at providing enhanced support and care for the community's aging population. Over 100 years later, Lutheran Life Communities remains committed to empowering vibrant, grace-filled living across all generations, and now serves seniors and their families across three states (Illinois, Indiana, and Florida) and six locations (Arlington of Naples, Luther Oaks, Pleasant View, St. Paul's House, and Wittenberg Village). Each site (and the services provided therein), managed by an executive director, is self-sustaining and supports its own operating costs. Along with independent, assisted living, and skilled nursing levels of care, Lutheran Life Communities offers a variety of specialized programs, recognized for innovative methods and successful outcomes. These include:

  • MyRehab short-term rehabilitation;
  • MyTapestry memory support;
  • Shepherd's Flock intergenerational childcare program at Lutheran Home;
  • Cherished Place Adult Day Club; and
  • MySolutions, a pioneering program in the field of senior move management that also provides individuals smart options to support living at home.

Job Description:

The Senior Vice President of Human Resources reports directly to the President & CEO and is responsible for the overall administration, organization, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Department and all of its component functions and activities, including recruitment and retention; onboarding, training, and development; performance management; compensation and benefits; employee relations; labor relations; HRIS; employee engagement; customer experience / service excellence; compliance and risk management. In addition, the SVP of HR serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer. The SVP's reporting relationships include one direct report, the Corporate Director of Human Resources/Director of Human Resources, Lutheran Home (one person, dual role), and five dotted-line reports, the directors of human resources at Arlington of Naples, Luther Oaks, Pleasant View, St. Paul's House, and Wittenberg Village.
