Albert Hwang was placed as the chief marketing officer of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) in Englewood, Colorado. With a membership of over 40,000 medical practice administrators, executives, and leaders, the MGMA represents more than 12,500 organizations that deliver almost half of the health care in the United States. Its mission is to empower practices, providers, and patients to create meaningful change in health care, accomplished through four divisions – industry insights, business intelligence, association services, and governance services – that offer educational collateral and certifications; innovative ideas and networking events; benchmarking data and statistics; access to industry experts and thought leaders; and information and materials for making medical practices more successful and profitable. In this role, Albert is a strategic business partner providing direct administrative, budgetary, and strategic oversight of the MGMA's marketing, sales, and communications departments, with the ultimate goal of advancing the MGMA's mission and advocacy efforts, generating community engagement, enhancing member and customer experience, achieving strategic objectives and fiscal goals, and increasing brand awareness.
Albert comes to the MGMA from Prestige Brands, where he served as the vice president of marketing and the head of e-commerce and digital marketing. With full P&L and marketing responsibilities for a $700 million portfolio, he consistently over-delivered both revenue and profit goals and expanded organizational capabilities into digital marketing, shopper marketing, and e-commerce. Previously, Albert served as the brand manager for Matrixx Initiatives' Zicam cough and cold products and as a brand and channel marketing manager for products within Coors Brewing Company's portfolio. He began his career with Procter and Gamble, managing the corporate sales and ordering system and ultimately rising to assistant brand manager for the Zest brand.
Albert holds a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Outside of work, he has served as a volunteer youth basketball coach and camp counselor, and enjoys skiing, hiking, rugby, and salsa dancing.
Quick Leonard Kieffer's Courtney Lada led the search to recruit Albert to the MGMA.
