Deborah Morrin was placed as the chief financial officer of Activate Healthcare in Indianapolis. Activate manages near- or on-site health clinics in five Midwestern states, with five more states currently in development. The company contracts with school districts and various-sized companies to provide employees with primary-care services, chronic disease prevention and management, health screenings, low-cost laboratory services, generic drugs, immunizations, and physical therapy; employers pay a per-employee monthly fee to Activate, which builds, staffs, and operates the clinics. Deb brings to the position an entrepreneurial spirit and a wide breadth of experience working within organizations of varying size, with over 25 years of experience working in finance.
Before joining Activate, Deb served as the founder and president of Kase Orion CFO, Inc., a provider of interim and part-time CFOs on an hourly basis to rapidly-growing businesses in need of assistance in their accounting and financial management departments. Since its inception in 2011, the company has had 45 clients in a wide variety of industries, including internet start-ups, large and small manufacturing firms, consumer financial services companies, professional services firms, agricultural and biotech firms, and construction industry companies. In total, Kase Orion CFO has 30 subcontracted CFOs who offer services ranging from business modeling and forecasting to consulting on identifying the best financial processes and procedures to instill, in order to build infrastructure for the long-term.
Previously, Deb served as the co-founder and principal of Hidden Orchard Health Resort, LLC; as the chief financial officer of Hu-Friedy Manufacturing; as the chief financial officer and principal of First Chicago Equity Capital; as the corporate controller for The HVAI Group LP; and as the aftermarket vice president of administrative services for Fel-Pro. She began her career serving in various strategy, finance, and sales capacities with American Hospital Supply Corporation and Kraft Foods.
Deb is a licensed CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She earned her bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana and her MBA in finance and marketing from Northwestern University in Illinois.
