Claudia Castro was placed as the director of practice operations for PediaTrust, LLC. Founded in 2012, PediaTrust is the largest independent pediatric group in the state of Illinois, comprised of 19 offices in the northern, northwestern, and western suburbs of Chicago, along with three after-hours locations; over 70 pediatricians and allied health partners; and over 250 staff members. PediaTrust serves more than 70,000 patients, and has achieved the highest-level Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. In her role, Claudia will provide oversight and management of the daily operations of PediaTrust’s physician practice facilities, implementing strategies for growth and coordinating the use of resources, and ensuring that Patient-Centered Medical Home quality improvement initiatives are implemented appropriately and effectively.
Claudia comes to PediaTrust from Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), where she served as a physician clinic manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the outpatient adult and pediatric physician clinics, as well as procedure suite services. Leading a multi-disciplinary treatment team, Claudia worked with medical leadership and physicians to ensure that services met organizational expectations, recruited and developed staff, and ensured excellence in patient care quality, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the cost efficiency of her practices.
Previously, Claudia served as the manager of outpatient neuroscience and pain management for Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois; as the director of operations and risk management for Midwest Advanced Radiology Center in Des Plaines, Illinois; as the director of healthcare operations and the contracts and risk manager for MedPlus Medical Group in Chicago; and as a physician practice administrator and provider relations manager for Multispecialty Medical Centers in Hinsdale and Westmont, Illinois.
Claudia is originally from Columbia, where she earned her Bachelor of Laws; she also holds a Master of Laws from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. Claudia began her career as an associate attorney before coming to the U.S. in 2000. She is a member of the American Society for Health Care Risk Management, and holds a certificate in healthcare management from Loyola University and a certificate in business administration from Kellogg School of Management.
QLK’s Jamie Cassedy and Nancy DeMoss led the search to recruit Claudia to PediaTrust, where her duties will begin on December 1, 2022.
