Ed Carne has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Union Health System’s medical group in Terre Haute, Indiana. Ed was most recently employed by the Advisory Board Company where he provided physician practice management consulting services to health systems. He has held administrative positions with Vanguard Health System in Chicago, Illinois and Banner Medical Group in Phoenix, Arizona. For over 12 years, Ed served as chief operating officer and as chief executive officer with Dupage Medical Group in Illinois. During his tenure, the organization grew from 120 physicians to over 300 physicians to one of the largest physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Illinois. Ed earned his bachelor’s degree in radiation medicine at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and a master’s degree in management at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He is a fellow with the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Ed and his wife have two daughters, and he enjoys spending time with his family as well as exercising and playing golf.
