James Woodward was recently placed as president and CEO at Elliot Health System in Manchester, New Hampshire. Prior to his move to Elliot, Jim served as president and CEO of Meriter Health Services in Madison, Wisconsin for eight years. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and also actively participates in healthcare policy development via his role as a delegate of the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board and a member of the Wisconsin Hospital Association Board. Jim attended undergraduate and graduate school in Washington, D.C. at The George Washington University. His career spans 26 years and four different health systems of varying size and complexity. He is most proud of his accomplishment leading two different organizations to be recognized in the top 100 hospitals in the United States on four separate occasions. Jim and his wife Rosemary have two sons and a daughter. Their daughter and eldest son attend college, and their youngest son will be relocating to New Hampshire with Jim and his wife.
