David Dickhudt was placed as senior director of finance for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in Park Ridge, Illinois. Founded in 1927, the MDRT is a global, independent association that represents more than 72,000 of the world’s best financial services professionals from more than 500 companies in 70 nations and territories. In addition to a variety of meetings that allow members to come together, learn, and share ideas – ultimately leading to personal and professional advancement – the MDRT offers a family of brands that include the MDRT Academy, MDRT Global Services, and the MDRT Foundation. In his role, David will direct the financial and accounting functions of the association, ensuring appropriate fiscal policies and procedures and proper controls. The oversight and guidance he provides will ensure that the organization’s assets are protected, financial reporting is accurate and timely, and high internal control standards are maintained. David will be charged with analyzing fiscal matters, building efficiencies and profitability of operations, and planning and budgeting to build and safeguard the fiscal stability of the MDRT.
David comes to the MDRT from Shelter Association of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he served as finance director. Established in 1982, SAWC is the primary provider of services and emergency shelter for approximately 1,200 individuals in Washtenaw County, Michigan, each year, and is a national model of public-private partnership. There, David was responsible for all finance and accounting, treasury, human resources, and compliance activities.
David has had a long career tenure of roles in international finance, beginning with his first post-graduate experience at Ford Motor Company, where he was a business planner and financial analyst. Subsequently, David held director of finance and administration roles with AlliedSignal in Germany, and Silicon Graphics in Asia Pacific and Latin America; he also held chief financial officer roles with Balda AG in China, Winds Enterprises in Hong Kong, and International Care Ministries, also in Hong Kong.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in German literature from the University of Michigan, and an MBA in finance and international business from Columbia University.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife and adult daughter, bicycling, and serving in his church.
QLK’s Jamie Cassedy, Steve Lieber, and Joe Johnston led the search to recruit David to the MDRT, where his duties will begin on February 13, 2023.
