David comes to the MDRT from Shelter Association of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he served as finance director.  Established in 1982, SAWC is the primary provider of services and emergency shelter for approximately 1,200 individuals in Washtenaw County, Michigan, each year, and is a national model of public-private partnership.  There, David was responsible for all finance and accounting, treasury, human resources, and compliance activities.

David has had a long career tenure of roles in international finance, beginning with his first post-graduate experience at Ford Motor Company, where he was a business planner and financial analyst.  Subsequently, David held director of finance and administration roles with AlliedSignal in Germany, and Silicon Graphics in Asia Pacific and Latin America; he also held chief financial officer roles with Balda AG in China, Winds Enterprises in Hong Kong, and International Care Ministries, also in Hong Kong.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in German literature from the University of Michigan, and an MBA in finance and international business from Columbia University.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife and adult daughter, bicycling, and serving in his church.
