J. Michael (Mike) Marsh has been named chief executive officer of Overlake Hospital Medical Center (OHMC) in Bellevue, Washington. A visionary and thoughtful strategist, Mike has had an illustrious career as a leader within healthcare. Prior to joining OHMC, Mike maintained a long and successful tenure with Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit, Catholic health system that operates 32 hospitals across Arkansas, California, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. From 1987 to 2014, Mike was continuously promoted to roles that increased his scope of responsibility in the system and provided him with exposure to varied departments and facilities within Providence. Most recently, Mike served as the chief administrative officer for Providence’s Western Region where he played a pivotal role in the affiliation between Providence Health & Services and Swedish Health Services. A life-long native of the Pacific Northwest, Mike spent his childhood in Oregon then relocated to Washington to complete his higher education. He holds a BA in liberal art studies from Evergreen State College and a MHA from The University of Washington in Seattle. As true Washingtonians, Mike and his wife Lisa have a passion for the outdoors and maintain active lifestyles, which include snow skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. They have a 20-year-old daughter who often joins them on their travels.
