Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) Foundation

Serving Chicago’s northwest suburbs since 1959, NCH is a comprehensive, not-for-profit, patient-centered system of care with dozens of locations throughout the area, anchored by a 509-bed hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and supported by immediate care centers, physician offices, outpatient imaging and occupational health sites, home health, a same-day outpatient surgery center, clinical laboratory sites, a health and fitness center, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, a Level III NICU, a Level II Trauma Center, and a dedicated pediatric emergency department. The health system, which serves more than 200,000 outpatients and more than 20,000 inpatients annually, provides award-winning care that has been recognized on a national level, with honors including being named among America’s 250 Best Hospitals™ for six years in a row by Healthgrades® (2017–2022); maintaining consistent Magnet® designation for nursing excellence since 2006; and earning The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation.  In January 2021, NCH joined NorthShore University HealthSystem, a fully integrated healthcare delivery system headquartered in Evanston, Illinois, that now comprises six hospitals.  

The mission of the NCH Foundation is to inspire charitable giving that advances Northwest Community Hospital’s pursuit of excellence in serving patients and families, with the vision to create true partnerships with donors, enabling them to experience the full impact of their support.

QLK congratulates Amy Chhadia, Clark Koertner, and Patrick Sexton on their election as trustees of the Northwest Community Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors, with terms beginning in 2023.

Amy Chhadia, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist.  She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and psychology, as well as her medical degree, from the University of Chicago, and completed her residency in the University of Chicago Department of Anesthesia & Critical Care.  Dr. Chhadia is a member of the American College of Physician Advisors and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.  With past experience as an attending physician at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Illinois, Dr. Chhadia now practices at the Ashton Center for Day Surgery in Hoffman Estates, and is the founder and president of Top Shelf Anesthesiology, LLC.  In addition, Dr. Chhadia is active with professional and charitable organizations, including WINGS, which serves victims of domestic violence.  She and her husband reside in South Barrington with their four children.

Clark Koertner is the director of institutional sales at Segall Bryant & Hamill, a wealth management and financial planning firm in Chicago.  He has worked in the institutional investment industry since 2001, with time spent at Mercer Investment Consulting and Stratford Advisory Group, as well as an extended tenure with Segall, where he has held leadership roles in marketing and business development.  Clark currently leads all external-facing communication, including marketing, client service, sales, and consultant relations, and is actively involved in the firm’s strategic initiatives.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and management information systems from Miami University, and is a graduate of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business’s Chicago Management Institute.  Clark and his wife are the founders and owners of CGIA Management, Inc., d.b.a. Crisp & Green, a health food-based restaurant franchise; in addition, Clark is active in his local Cystic Fibrosis Foundation chapter and is on the Big Shoulders Fund Chairmen’s Advisory Council, whose mission supports inner-city schools.  He and wife reside in Barrington Hills with their two middle school-aged daughters.  

Patrick Sexton, JD, is the executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Global Markets, and the deputy general counsel for CBOE.  He has over 30 years of legal experience, with early work as a clerk in the Illinois Supreme Court, and as an associate with Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold in Chicago.  Since joining CBOE in 1997, Patrick has had increasing responsibility and oversight; he played a significant role in the company’s demutualization in 2010, and has since supervised functional legal areas related to public company obligations, litigation, and regulatory matters, among others.  Patrick earned both his bachelor’s degree and his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame.  Patrick and his wife, who owns an interior design firm, reside in Arlington Heights, and are the parents of grown children.
