Renae Feilmeier was placed as vice president and chief human resources officer for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, Catholic hospitals that provide physical medicine and rehabilitation services to children and adults from across the nation. Madonna is one of the largest freestanding rehabilitation hospitals in the country, offering a full continuum of rehabilitative care through its two-campus system, which encompasses a total of 356 beds and almost 2,000 employees. In her role, Renae will be responsible for the organization, leadership, and direction of the human resources, corporate compliance, legal services, quality and risk management, and volunteer resources functions, as well as the child development center, ensuring quality and effectiveness in the delivery of services, including excellent customer service, fiscal management, and policy development.
Renae comes to Madonna from the law firm Bromm, Lindahl, Freeman-Caddy & Lausterer in Wahoo, Nebraska, where she served as an attorney focusing on employment law, commercial contracts, business formation and governance, real estate transactions, family law, and estate planning.
After earning her law degree, Renae began her career with Kutak Rock LLP in Omaha, specializing in employment law and insurance coverage. She then served as corporate counsel for Landscapes Unlimited, a golf course design and management company headquartered in Lincoln, where one of her focuses was the legal issues of human resources. Renae’s work with that department subsequently led to her assuming the concurrent role of human resources manager; in that capacity, she built the professionalism of the human resources function, as well as rebuilding the market compensation program, implementing a new self-insured health benefits program, and creating an H-2B visa program that was an important hiring source for the company.
A lifelong resident of Nebraska, Renae holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international affairs from University of Nebraska, a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law, and a master’s certificate in human resources from Cornell University. She and her husband are the parents of a 13-year-old daughter.
QLK’s Kathy Hall and Nancy DeMoss led the search to recruit Renae to Madonna, where her duties will begin on September 26, 2022.
