The Christ Hospital Health Network

Corey Heller was placed as chief human resources officer at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, Ohio, an extensive network of 6,500 employees and 1,200 physicians serving patients in more than 100 locations including two hospital campuses, as well as outpatient centers and physician practices. The Network has been recognized with a first-place ranking in the region and fourth-place ranking in the state by U.S. News & World Report, as the “Most Preferred Hospital” in the region for 21 consecutive years via survey results from the National Research Corporation, as one of “America’s 50 Best Hospitals” by Healthgrades for 15 consecutive years for clinical quality, and with Press Ganey’s Guardian of Excellence Award for patient experience.

In his role as an integral part of the company’s executive leadership team, Corey will focus on all elements of the continued organizational transformation and organizational development necessary to support growth, ensuring that a strong HR team is in place and is operating at a professional level, which will include oversight of the fundamental aspects of HR administration. He will also be the primary liaison on all issues of succession and development of the top leadership team, reputational risk, and human capital as it relates to regulatory requirements and fair market value.

Corey comes to TCHHN from Sentry Data Systems, a healthcare IT company that is the nation’s leader in pharmacy procurement, compliance, utilization management, and healthcare business intelligence and analytics. As the vice president of human resources, Corey built Sentry to the point of salability to a strategic buyer, helping establish baseline HR practices; he then designed and orchestrated all workstreams for the post-acquisition integration, building an integrated leadership team and addressing the fact that the company competed in two different, though related, industries – revenue cycle management/patient access and 340B compliance.

Previously, Corey served as chief people and diversity officer for Bassett Healthcare Network; as chief human resources officer, chief administrative officer, and executive vice president of business development for Advantage Brands International; and as chief human resources officer for Intermountain Healthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, and Baptist Health South Florida. He began his career in human resources roles within large companies including PepsiCo, Fleetwood Enterprises, and Brambles Industries. Corey holds a bachelor’s degree in from Hamilton College, and a master’s degree in industrial labor relations from Cornell University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by HRCI, and is a WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional.

Originally from New York, Corey is the father of two grown sons. Outside of work, he enjoys fitness training and competitive mountain biking, skiing, tennis, and paddleboarding.

QLK’s Gwen MacKenzie and Mike Quick led the search to recruit Corey to The Christ Hospital Health Network, where his duties will begin on July 1, 2022.
