Sonya Aldy was placed as vice president of talent acquisition at Inova, northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider. Inova’s 18,000 team members serve more than two million individuals annually through an integrated network of hospitals, primary and specialty care practices, emergency and urgent care centers, outpatient services, and destination institutes that are consistently recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, U.S. News & World Report, and The Leapfrog Group for excellence in health care. In her role, Sonya will provide leadership to system-wide talent acquisition for all clinical and non-clinical team members, designing, implementing, and leading programs and practices that take the talent acquisition team to the next level and embrace its culture of success.
Sonya comes to Inova from Wellstar Health System, one of the largest and most integrated health systems in Georgia, where she served as vice president of talent acquisition. During her tenure, she reimagined talent acquisition, creating an elite recruiting function poised to attract top talent from across the nation. Sonya led the selection and implementation of a new applicant tracking system; created a new employer brand platform; built out a 16-member sourcing team for critical, difficult-to-fill, and high-visibility positions; centralized the TA function to provide service line expertise; rolled out a chatbot on the career site to improve the application process; and developed an academic affairs arm in nursing to focus on nurse residencies. For her efforts, she received HRO Today’s “Most Admired Employer Brand” award in 2020, and her department was recognized by Lean Human Capital with its 2021 “Candidate Experience Raving Fan Award” for top scores from new hires and non-hired applicants.
Previously, Sonya served as regional director of talent acquisition for Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio; as an RPO talent acquisition consultant; and as a recruiting manager for Spherion RPO, through which she supported Honeywell’s aerospace division. Sonya began her career in legal staffing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.
Sonya and her husband are the parents of two teenaged children.
QLK’s Jake Barto and Mike Quick led the search to recruit Sonya to Inova, where her duties will begin on November 29, 2021.
