Matt Renn was placed as vice president of finance at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois, a 302-bed Level II trauma center with an extensive ambulatory network throughout the region and clinical partnerships with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, The Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, Northwestern Medicine Neurosciences, and Advocate Physician Partners. Silver Cross has been recognized with "100 Top Hospital" designation from Truven Health Analytics for seven consecutive years, an "A" Hospital Safety Score from the Leapfrog Group, a five-star rating from CMS, and the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission.
In his role, Matt will oversee the long‐range financial planning process, including oversight of the organization's Revenue Cycle, which consists of Registration, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Medical Records, Central Scheduling, and Patient Accounts. He will serve as a resource to enhance Silver Cross's operational teams through process improvement opportunities, embracing the principles that drive efficiency and profitability, and add value by working across the entire organization to build and support cross-functional teams that leverage existing knowledge for growth, and by tracking business opportunities and key projects to ensure that they are resourced for success.
Matt comes to Silver Cross from Janus Health, a startup provider of process improvement technology platforms for healthcare revenue cycle; there, he served as chief customer officer – the first organizational subject matter expert and client-facing executive. After establishing an effective operational foundation for Janus, Matt focused on implementation methodologies, identifying the greatest areas of opportunity for clients, and helping Janus build trust and credibility within the healthcare industry. He also developed the company's customer-facing resources, supporting the growth of the company in annual recurring revenue.
Previously, Matt served as chief operating officer of Pinnacle Dermatology, a four-clinic dermatology practice in the southwest suburbs of Chicago; as associate vice president of revenue cycle for Edward-Elmhurst Health; as a director of account management, business development, and strategic accounts with MethodCare, a healthcare technology startup; as director of revenue cycle operations for Accretive Health, a healthcare revenue cycle service provider; and as an analyst with Accenture. He began his career in audit in the banking industry.
Matt lives in Lemont with his wife and three children.
